Annualised Tax Credit & PAYE Lab

Walk one sample employee payroll to payroll — or switch to Practice 1 and fill the worksheet yourself by building each figure from the correct formula. Practice 2 and 3 are reserved for later.

Sample employee setup

Method (same idea as Free Payroll local mode): period COP = annual COP ÷ periods in year (week‑1 / month‑1 slice; unused COP does not roll). Period tax credit = remaining annual TC ÷ periods still left in the year (unused credit stays in the annual balance and is re-spread). Taxable@20% = min(taxable pay, period COP); @40% = excess. Gross PAYE = 20% + 40% bands; Applied TC = min(period TC, gross PAYE); Net tax = gross − applied. Yellow cells are drivers / overrides; green dashed cells are calculated. Double‑click an orange override to restore auto.
