Simple estimator for the Single Public Service Pension Scheme member contribution per pay period. Uses the 2026 State Pension reference for full-time standard-accrual members. Confirm Single Scheme membership with your employer; entrance date alone is not conclusive. Part-time work patterns, fast-accrual categories and retirement benefits are outside its scope.
This tool estimates member contributions for the Irish Single Public Service Pension Scheme. It is intended for the supported entrant and pay-period inputs shown above. It does not calculate your pension at retirement, years of service, State Pension entitlement or generic private-pension tax relief.
The 2026 estimate uses a verified annual State Pension reference of €15,617.47 and standard 3% / 3.5% contribution rates. Single Scheme payroll divisors are 52.18 weekly, 26.09 fortnightly/two-weekly and 12 monthly. Overtime is excluded from pensionable remuneration. Use the remuneration override only for employer-confirmed pensionable allowances; do not add overtime. Part-time work-pattern adjustments and fast-accrual category rates are not supported. Sources: 2026 State Pension reference, Single Scheme member booklet, and the Act’s pay definitions and contribution rates.
A teacher or civil servant’s scheme and entrance date matter. A query for a teacher pension calculator does not establish that this tool covers that person’s retirement benefits. Check your membership and the official Single Public Service Pension Scheme guidance with your payroll office.
Read the pension methodology limits. Use Take Home Pay for indicative salary deductions or the PAYE Lab for tax exercises.
